Thanks all for the help!

Got it booked in to a garage opposite my work for Friday (convenience) to check it out.

Hi Howling_Mad, can you let us know how you get on as mine is not booked in until the 14th and I think I have the same issue. Thanks.

Thanks HM. Have you had a look at the lower pulley on the drivers side of the engine bay? If I lift the bonnet and shine a tourch onto it from the top I can see mine wobble, just wondered if yours was the same.

Howling-Mad, have you got an update on your noise/rattle? Cheers, Rich.

Hi rich,

Yes sorry for late reply, it took a bit longer than planned to finally get sorted.

It was the alternator crankshaft pulley that was causing the noise, sadly had to have the whole alternator replaced to remedy the issue but now I don't have awkward looks at traffic lights!

What about yours?

Hi, thanks or the update. The garage suspects the alternator pulley and tensioner so booked in a week on Monday. I had the crankshaft pulley replaced with the sensor as mine was wobbling and the garage inspected the noise then, unfortunately they couldn't get hold of the other parts on the day so I have had to book it in again. At least I am more hopeful of a resolution with your result. Great news, glad you are sorted. Thumbs Up

Bit of added info, my fuel consumption has improved by nearly 2mpg so is about 38mpg on winter tyres now. We haven't had any of the white stuff some of you lucky soles have, just the usual rain interspersed with biting wind!
