2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Firenze Red
Radio & Sat Nav doing their own thing

FL2 08 plate SE.
Had this intermittent problem for a year now. Sometimes when driving my radio goes off and the Sat screen goes blank and will carry on switching for maybe 10 mins. The green back light stays illuminated on the radio display. I doubt that its a lose connection as going over a bump doesn't cure it. The only way i've found is to switch the ignition off and on. I don't mind losing the radio buts its a b-g-er when you are using the sat nav.
For the backlight to stay on there must be a separate supply, is the other supply fed from a relay. The main problem with this fault is you can't do anything until it plays up and when it does you are usually driving.

Nothing useful to add, I'm afraid . Only that ours does exactly the same thing ,albeit only twice so far. When it did it last time I told my wife to pull over and switch off remove key and lock / unlock doors which made no difference, she continued her journey( using phone sat nav!) ,when she returned to the car after 2 hours it was all ok. 2007 Freelander 2 2.2TD4 HSE manual (Hers)
