Tyre Wear

Has any one had both front tyres wear heavily on the inside and outside edges. It seems as if I am running under inflated tyres. My land rover dealer said it doesn't seem like a wheel alignment issue. But I have checked the pressures on a regular basis and I keep them at 32psi as recommended. I still have 6.5mm of tread depth in the centre of the tyres. I have Nexen Roadian tyre fitted. Just wondering if it a common issue with the Freelander 12Bore

I've had the outer edge of the NSF wear faster than the rest of the tyre. I had the geometry checked and found nothing out of spec. The fitter put it down to roundabouts.
I just wonder if Nexian have their own recommended tyre pressures? They could have a more flexible tread area that needs a higher pressure to keep flat on the road.

Thanks for reply. Glad it's not just me who has the same problem. The tyres have only done 11500 miles. I don't think they will get past the due soon MOT. I will check the Nexan website for info. 12Bore

I assume you're not running 19" wheels as they would need to be higher pressures IIRC.

Could this be a Haldex problem ? I ask because my very first FL1 wore its front tyres terribly until a IRD unit fault was found and the whole unit replaced under warranty. I know a FL1 is alot different to the FL2 but it made me think. Jules

I am running 18" wheels on my FOR. I'll avoid thinking it might be a Haldex issue, sounds a bit expensive. 12Bore

Typing error. FOR should be FL2. 12Bore

What is the full tyre spec, ie; full size and load rating?

The load rating is less than recommended, shouldn't be a problem as such, but may be contributing to the issue you have?

Just did a quick check on my tyres and the load rating on the front is 102 and the rear is 103. There is a 25kg difference between them. These tyres were fitted as a full set by the local main dealer. 12Bore
