New key fob programming

Just tried to get new key fob and programming from local dealer, they couldn't do it although he tried all the gizmos he had. They have contacted JLR and are waiting for an answer. Anyone else had any issues?

I know some boys who could do it in about a minute. However, you'd never see your car again! Td4 XS manual, Orkney Grey, MY2014

If it's a dealer, there is only one "gizmo" that is needed, the standard LR SDD equipment.
And one existing valid key.
Indeed, takes about one minute... Laughing
Are you sure they are the real deal(er)?

What do you mean by local specialist? If anyone can do it I would have thought a LR dealer would, or is that niave?

That would be where I took it, but they told me they couldn't do it so are waiting to hear from JLR as to what to do. Looks like I will just have to wait for them to get back to me. Thanks.

Just an update in case anyone experiences this: Local dealer was able to program a new key fob for me after they updated the software on their gizmo, thanks for the advice and to Ryan for assistance Thumbs Up
