Swopping Front Seat Bases?

Hi,
The side bolster on my driver's seat has started to wear out due to entering and exiting my MY2011 car.
As the passenger base is basically intact on the inboard side, I was thinking to swop these two bases around so to prolong the life of the seat.
Does anybody have a sketch, or preferably a photo of the bottom of a removed seat, which shows the position of the screws holding the base in place? Or maybe a description of the method to do this without removing the seat as such?!
I assume the bases to be identical?

Thanks, but it still doesn't show the position of the screws or describe how - obviously the experts know where and how! Snorkie

sounds a great idea, both my seats now have the dreaded spilt in the pleather in the usual place on the outside.

swopping them over may a good move !!

The first thing would be to confirm the bases are indeed interchangeable

They are interchangeable, but you would have to swap the weight sensor from the original passenger seat to the other. This will entail removing & refitting the upholstery on each squab to get at it.

Not too difficult. Best disconnect the battery. Just two bolts (10mm) under the front of each seat base. I used a small 1/4" drive socket set for ease of access. Depending, on your model, you may have a front trim panel to remove first. It pulls off (be careful). The seat base then lifts out. Be careful to disconnect the electrical plugs before lifting away. If you are removing it, the seat cover has rigid edge strips that engage in lugs all around the base tray. A bit fiddly to release but persevere! The cover is held to the seat foam by wire hooks wrapped around wire rods in the foam. I replaced my wire hooks with electrician's tie-wraps when I refitted.

It's all posted on here: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic7982.html
