Pedal can be lifted back up, that's what the AA man did and then forced it into gear to pull up to his van to tow it. You need to stall it to stop though... |

Mechanic reckons it's a "monumental job" to get the gearbox out to change the clutch - this sounds expensive - he's arranging a tow truck on Monday to pick it up and getting me a courtesy car tomorrow so I remain mobile...

Advanced factors on here do a good price for clutch and flywheel. My clutch is slipping a little bit so I'm going to wait and see if it gets worse. The indy I use reckons about £1000 for clutch/flywheel if he gets the parts or if I get the parts it works out about £800. The indy told me it was gearbox out to change clutch but its a fairly striagt forward (to him) task.

Recently had my clutch, dmf and slave cylinder replaced by an indie. Came to a shade over £1000. I believe the sub frame had to be removed to get box out. Freelander 2 HSE TD4 2007 |

Advance Factors is a site sponsor. PM him and I'm sure he will be able to help. A 3 piece clutch kit I believe has everything in it for the clutch side then there is the DMF. My Indy couldn't match the price of advance factors for the parts. My Indy told me to use LUK parts as in his opinion they were better than the LR Clutch parts. Advance Factors sell clutch and DMF for about £320. Plus there will be price for gearbox oil as I believe it has the be drained. I can't imagine all the parts costing £800 unless your garage included labour on that price? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
