Steaming rad

Hi all

Anyone else noticed your rad steam either when you wash your lr2 or when its peeing it down?

I have noticed it a few times and thought oh its the head lights heating the water off them, then when I washed it the other day, ( I did spray the hose into the grill/ rad ) upon starting and letting it tick over i noticed the steam again so got out and had alook this time to find it was coming out of the front grill, then when the fan kicked on it sucked the steam under the bonnet, fan turned off and back out the grill again.

Don't think i have a leak as it dosnt smell and have not noticed this on dry days, only when i washed it and its peeing it down, tbh i thought it was the cars infront when i was out as i only noticed it when stopping at traffic lights

Anyone else noticed this kind of thing?

Looks like when the sun hits a damp fence and you get that steam affect Laughing

Laughing i know that but should it happen when driving around town ( -30 mph ) it just seems that water gets into the rad rather easyer through the plastic grill? Wondering if the more modern bumper helps with this?

Never notice water get into a rad from just town driving before

Only ever noticed it after cleaning or after driving on a misty day - presumably condensation when rad still cool. Not sure why you'd get it repeatedly. 2011 SD4 HSE Auto
