Hi all,

I've looked at a few posts regarding the stereo quality in the GS but not sure if anyone has actually upgraded yet? I find the sound quality awful in my GS which makes sense given that higher spec models get upgraded stereos and they have to justify the cost difference...

Has anyone got any ideas on a cost effective upgrade?

Lovin' my FL2 by the way done 1000 mile in the first 1 and 1/2 weeks and enjoyed every mile, bought it to help with my backache (getting in and out of the car was bad for me) and much improved already!!

I think the vehicle security is built in to the GS radio so swapping it will be difficult

I know one of the members swapped his and his parking sensors stopped working too, i think you would have to tuck away the radio somewhere in the dash if your wanting to have a different head unit.

Also Avtur has had lots of dealing with the radio on his GS, but i don't know the full outcome Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I guess the question here is if the headunit is teh problem or the other components.......maybe a simple speaker upgrade would do the job and bring a little life back into it.

The Alpine Vehicle Hub Pro might do the job, as it plugs staright into the vehicle system and basically upgrades your system and allows for easy expansion with other devices.

The website doesn't say it is available for the FL2 but as Alpine developed the high end systems for teh FL2 I would find it strange they couldn't offer something.

The speaker grilles may have alpine on them, but the speakers are made by Philips . . . .
