I have always been a little sad about having 17" wheels and looked enviously at those with 18s or 19s.

I haven't ever really been off-road so I am not too worried about the risks some people highlight with having lower profile tyres and I like the look of the bigger rims.

I stumbled upon this eBay listing for 4x original 19" wheels for $200 last weekend and managed to win.

They have some scrape marks on two of the wheels but from what I can tell from the pictures, they aren't too severe and would probably be able to be reconditioned easily. The tyres are duff too but that is OK.

Since I am suffering from terrible tyre noise on my Wranglers, I might put them on for a quick drive around the estate to see if the noise disappears. If it does, I will be encouraged to buy new tyres for the 19s and install them pronto. If it doesn't, I will leave the 17s on until it is time to replace and then get new tyres for the 19s.

I have just won 4 HST 19 inch wheels and tyres on the bay for £150, but 2 need a re-furb, but still not bad. I6 WITH GAS CONVERSION

Might be better to get all four refurbed, it's easier to match the shade with the Shadow Chromes.
