Try checking your earth strap on bell housing, this has caused similar problems when loose.

Thanks, second thing I checked
When I get the relay click, sounds like it comes from front left of car
Light go out radio go's of temporary
If I keep pressing the start button it will start after 4 or 5 try's
Any idea where to look next ?

I pretend no technical skills at all but on cars I have owned in the past when I have had these symptoms it has invariably been a knackered starter motor which sticks but draws huge power from battery hence everything else going without power. Hitting it with a mallet or putting the car in gear and rocking it used to unstick it but eventually it always needed a replacement starter motor!!

Thanks sakoquad
Time to find a used starter motor might as well try it 😃
Mind you it's not the starter that's clicking it sounds like a relay

Worth trying putting into gear and rocking it. If you hear a clunk and it then starts you will know that the starter motor IS the problem, could save a bob or two. Good luck, hope you get it sorted quickly.

As usual, not using a sledge hammer to crack a walnut, check and recheck the simplest of things first. Perhaps redo all the earthing points before going onto bigger things. I once had an Alfa Romeo with a security light on indicating that the engine had been disabled and this was merely after changing a battery. Turned out to be a bad earth not supplying the security module.

Good advice, a tight earth connection is not necessarily a good one, only as good as the corrosion on the mating surfaces.
Undo the connections, clean them, tighten them and seal them, spray on lithium grease is good, I take it this would be safe on hot engine surfaces? Check first.

My guess would be a starter motor full of mud from taking the car some way past its maximum wading depth... Whistle

Without hearing the click, I'm wondering if its the steering column lock?? Mines done it a few times in the past were on pressing the start button I heard a click and nothing happened, tried wriggling the steering wheel then it started on the next attempt. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
