the reasoning why it was abandoned is getting different as days go by, just read from someone on view point 4. They were told 'some idiot' had got too close and when a marshal went to grab him back they both got clipped by a car.

which makes more sence to why there is nothing in the news or mention of the the stage been cancelled Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I have heard that it wasn't marshalls that dammed the stream to cause the water splash aswell, the chap at that location said it was spectators not marshals Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It was definitely the marshal at Junction 1A who had a heart attack and because he is a "big lad" broke his leg as he went down.
The radio operator on the junction called for medical assistance and the FIV (Fast intervention vehicle) crewed by a paramedic and doctor attended.
They assessed the situation and called for the Rescue Ambulance which attended but the time taken to stabilise him plus transfer time from the incident site to the nearest point the ambulance could get too meant that to keep the rally on its time schedule meant that the cars after the first 10 had to be sent into the stage at a non competitive speed short cutting from J2 (where I was on duty) to J4 and then short cutting J8 to J14.following the ambulance which had already cut J2 to J4 exiting the stage at J11 to RV with the County Ambulance at the public road.
There was a second incident towards the end of the "National" event with a spectator having a stroke but all competitors had passed the incident site and the Rescue/Paramedics were able to deal with it without any effect on the rally.
No mention of the rally at all in any paper I read during the event, no mention on BBC or ITV news outside of local Welsh news bulletins or on the BBC website Sport section, and about 1 column inch just giving the results in Monday national papers.
Comprehensive report of the event in the "Motorsport News" weekly newspaper confirming my above comments.
