Philips Xtreme HID Upgrade

With winter now on its way I decided to upgrade my HID bulbs from the std Osram Xenarc to Philips Xtreme .
I had Xtreme halogen bulbs in my D4 and was impressed, so I had high hopes for the HID bulbs (especially given the price) Shocked

Philips also seem to be the only ones doing an upgrade in D3S at the moment as Osram only do D1S in their 'Xenarc unlimited' upgrade and confirmed to me via email that they have no plans to do a D3S yet Confused (cant see the logic in that !)

Anyway I am well impressed , they certainly seem to live up to their claims of 50% more light & 20% brighter.
The light seems much more crisp (4800k v 4150k for Xenarc) & they give a much greater visibility especially on full beam.

I did try & get some photos, but failed as everything was just too bright for my cheap camera Laughing Cheers Ian

What did the Phillips cost Ian? Might have to add them to the line up this winter Rolling Eyes Paul Redding

I swapped out the Osram Xenarc High Beam Improved D3S 66340HBi bulbs in my Evoque (standard D3S bulbs in Evoque Special Edition AFS lights) for the Philips Xtreme Visions and I too am very impressed with them. They've only been used for around 4 hours so far, so the colour temperature should get even whiter with more hours of use on them. i didn't like the yellowish tinge of the standard HID Xenon bulbs against the crisp white if the LED DRL's and the fogs, so for me it was Initially a cosmetic upgrade, which has vastly improved night vision into the bargain, so I'm very happy. I live out in the sticks, so need my lights to be as affective as possible. Sorry it's not of an FL2, guys, but our Freelander only has the standard Halogen lights.

This is how they looked just after fitting. The difference in colour temperature may not be obvious, but compared to the standard bulbs there is quite a big difference, as can be seen compared to the standard bulbs (in the standard AFS Xenons) in the second pic.
