Running Lights

Hi All

I've done a search but can't find much info on the daytime running lights.

I have a 2014 Metropolis and noticed that when a turn indicator is on the corresponding running light on the front switches off.

I noticed this at a junction only today in the reflection of the car in front of me, if I indicate to turn left, the left running light switches off and likewise if I indicate right the right hand side running light switches off.

This looks odd when waiting at junctions...is it correct or do I have a fault? I can't find anything in the handbook and does seem a sort of strange thing to happen.

Anyone any ideas as to why this is happening - either why LR have done this or what the fault is?

This is normal operation to ensure that the indicator is visible. Nothing to worry about.

My 2015MY SE tech does the same, I think it is to make the indicators more visible during daylight hours. You will see the same thing on many cars that have LED DRLs.

Gav.

Thanks for that guys, thought it might have been something like that, just seems a bit odd.

Still learning every day!

Yes, I tried the hazards and both running lights go out when they're on.
