Just had the warning come up that battery was low. Used the spare fob and the same warning came up. Easy fix at £5 for two CR 2032 batteries and a minute out of my life but my question - does the onboard brain tell you that batteries are dying or is it that the warning comes up at year 3 regardless? Either Or, I should be ok for some time yet. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Good point as mine went coming up to 3 years but you will need new fobs soon going by my experience (swap over innards). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The fobs on MY13 on being different delaminate. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

One of my fobs the rubber came away around the edges. Battery lasted 2 years. The other fob after 2 years replacing a battery started going through batteries at an increasing rate while on holidays last year. First I thought is was a dodgy battery that lasted a month. Then it stated only lasting a few weeks & the batteries ended up lasting only a day. I went through half a dozen or so batteries. LR replaced the electronics.

In general only use the car about once a week so the fob does not get a lot of use.

Once the battery gets down to 2.97 volts that is the end of them in the remote. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
