I don't think it will help much as I'm in the UK. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good! |

ahh - didn't notice that - sorry - I use the "last posted in 24hrs" option so yours came up and I didn't check the group. There's a couple of folk in your neck of the woods on the forum I believe so hopefully they'll reply soon.

Hi Sheckster, I'm in the market for a SE TD4 and after some haggling between several dealers, I'm getting prices of between AU$55.5k to $56k drive away, includes metallic colours too. Now is the time to buy, especially if they have stock that's been sitting for a while. Good luck! |

hi red, thanks for that. I got pretty much the same, though I really like, or make that, my wife, likes the bi-xenon lights. It's really a pity that you can only get it in a package rather than by itself. I don't care for the auto-dimming mirrors and the 10 spoke 17in wheels, but sadly it's what they call the Style Package (includes the bi-xenon lights), they're asking an extra $3k for it. Good luck to you too. By the way what colour are you thinking of?, I'm seriously thinking going for the white as it doesn't attract $1700 fee for mettalic. Most expensive metallic paint I've come across as of yet. |

I think you can also get Bi-Xenons aftermarket. Might be worth a try As the Bi-Xenen actally consumes less than the halogen that are standard I think that there should be no problem if they are fitted aftermarket by another specialised company. Looks like our missus think the same ...my wife wants an HSE because of the Alpine stereo and bi-xenon's, but it's hard for me to justify the extra cost. I think the SE style package is a joke, especially since the wheels are the same size as the standard SE wheels... strange marketing tactics that you can't buy HSE wheels as upgrade here.
Yes very expensive upgrade, most cars are no more than $1000 tops for metallic... we were looking at the VW Tiguan as well, and their cost for metallic is an extra $700. We were thinking about dark colours originally, but we're now leaning towards white ourselves, we're considering the heat here in Queensland and resale. I like white with alpaca interior myself, but I just can't understand why they didn't use dark carpets, seems like a no brainer. By the way, talking to John at Austral Land Rover in Brisbane a few days ago, he was telling me about an aftermarket sat nav system that fits perfectly into the dash space on Freelanders, that's something I'll no doubt go for. |

I was looking for after market sat nav to go into that centre dash space as well. Do you mind to keep us posted in regards to the brand and model of that unit please?

Hi Gren, I'm pretty sure he said its a Garmin unit that costs around $1600 including installation, they hard wire it in. If I get one I'll let you know exactly what it is. |

Can't agree more, what's with that?, same size wheel as an upgrade?
Must be some very special type of paint that no other car maker knows of?. Just trying to find some reason behind it. Also, looked at the VW Tiguan and actually put a deposit for one unseen, but after checking it out, it's way too small, I think it's got the same space as as Golf only with a higher roof line, so I got my deposit back. Pity, I like the look of it, like Touareg. |

Ha I put a deposit on a Tiguan as well... I promptly got it back after seeing it in the flesh, nicely built but like you say, just too small. |

You should be able to do better if you are willing to travel, try Souther Cross Land Rover in Toowoomba. I got mine from there. |
