United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Noise on Acceleration

Wonder if anyone can shed any light on potential problem just noticed. TD4 HSE Auto just had service and covered 66000 miles from new.
I have noticed a muted "rasping" sound when accelerating from standstill. This comes in and goes away very quickly and sounds like something rubbing or grating against something else. Does not occur at all on gentle acceleration, only if you give it anything more than that.
Not affecting acceleration or performance, no warning lights and not the sound you get from a dodgy differential (which I recognise all too well from multiple issues in the past). Doesnt sound like a "whoosh" from the turbo either.
love this car but am a touch concerned as I know LR2's can have issues....
Any ideas please?
