Warranty

Hello all,

this is my first post!

I have a LR2 60 plate MY11 (Facelift) 20K miles on the clock. I had a extended warranty and expires this December.

My question is, do you think I should extended for another year? (£790)

Thanks,
Ivan

i had until recently a 09 FL2 which had extended warranty inc breakdown on from when its 3 year warranty ran out

each year, I had repairs that were in excess of the cost of the warranty

keep it in place, or put the equivalent money to one side just in case

Land Rover moto should be "One life Live it with deep pockets"

the fact you can keep the full cover for alot longer is good too

Pay it monthly too, that way if you sell mid year, and you have claimed you can cancel the DD, then depending on the claims that year your quids in, if you have claimed, they take a look at what paid and can ask for additional final payment Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thank you so much for your advise.

So do you think is best to by warranty 790 + service 600 + mot 30 or should I go for a cheep service and keep the money or perhaps upgrade to a 62 plate new shape with 25k on the clock for an extra 6k

Thanks ivan

If you have the erk too change change, change is good and there are some good deals out there

I personally would take the policy out, money in savings always finds its way to been spent before the need it was saved arrives Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I really want to change for the new shape but not sure about the depreseation as it is already discontinued

Let's see what happens tomorrow I really like freelanders'. I will visit my local land rover dealer Freelander 2 GS 59 plate about 35k miles (gone)

Have you considered swapping the front bumper? New shape with little outlay, bumpers are readily available, might be an option for you.

I had a FL2 from new for 6.5 years. I did not spend any money on a warranty, just took out AA cover in case I broke down. I did not have a claim in all that time, so for me it would have been a waste of money.

You take a chance. I suppose if you can afford an expensive repair or have a Visa Card, then don't bother with a warranty. It's like any other "insurance" policy, great if something happens, rubbish if it doesn't.
