I think if I was to leave the brand there is only one car that stands out for me and that's the XC90, the T8 twin engine is appealing but pricey.

LR are just way behind the competition in terms of EV/Hybrid tech. The new Disco really should've been available with a plug in hybrid, rather than wasting their time on folding seats with an app. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

You're right there J77. LR seem to have lost the ability to innovate. They are lagging behind the competition on PHEV, with a result on fleet sales and just doing gimmicks as improvements to their products. The fact that the DS and the D look identical other than size just seems lazy along with all the RRs looking the same...yawn.

If you line up a top spec Vitara for example for just over 20K...what extra are you getting in a DS that justifies another 15K??

Don't get me wrong I'd still have one because of the Land Rover badge on the front and that it is made in UK..but really the prices yikes!!!

The folding seats don't work if there is someone in the car , the car must be locked too. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

If anyone else is thinking of buying a DS and wants to hang on to their FL2 spare wheel' I have a couple of 5mm spacers which I don't need - am about to put them in the For Sale section.
FL2 wheels have a slightly different offset, so a spacer is necessary when fitting to an Evoque or DS. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

2016-17 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque recalled over concerns the front suspension could fail.

http://www.caradvice.com.au/513432/2016-17...nsion-fix/

The British marque reports the left and right lower control arms (depending on vehicle) in the knuckle joint of the front suspension have been incorrectly assembled, which could cause the suspension to fail if the vehicle is exposed to a shock impact like a deep pothole or kerb to the affected front wheel. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Had a HSE Lux DS loan car whilst my Freelander 2 was in for its 2nd scheduled service.........
Honestly not a bad car, does everything it should do BUT absolutely nothing special and in HSE Lux specification you have to be joking, not very LUX!
Seat facings are not even full leather, rear arm rest and centre seat position are non-leather material. Plastics are really cheap (centre consul, door cards) , obvious manufacturing cost savings everywhere (front door cards power windows switches one example), ride quality is very stiff (was riding on exact rubber as my FL2) very disappointing.
I did like the centre opening portal in the rear seats Thumbs Up and from a toys point of view electric tailgate.
Would I change my MY15 Freelander 2 for a DS.......absolutely not atm.
Dealer even presented a $10,000 reduction driveaway deal on this very car saying they can sell my Freelander 2 immediately, i declined. Apparently there is a waiting list for late model Freelanders here, there were nil at this main dealer. Interestingly there were plenty used RRS, Disco 4/3 but not a defender or Freelander 2 to been seen anywhere! MY15

I fail to see the point of stiff suspension on this type of car running on rubber bands!

Mine has only done 13K, could sell it for a profit. No way! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Really, I was trying to be as positive and objective as possible about the DS but driving home after having the DS for the day in my Freelander 2 was just such a relief, felt so much more special especially the driving position and softer ride. The DS is
Ok but that's it.
Actually a friend of mine in Sydney's been trying to update his Freelander 2, he currently has a
2011 SE and has missed out so many times on late model vehicle. Keep getting sold from under his feet, last one was a 2014 Si4 with Nav, was sold by the time he arrived at the dealer to test drive, so he's given up and is going to buy a Disco 4. He also didn't like the DS. MY15
