Lol, you guys and ya olde "manuals" Rolling with laughter
I can understand the personal preference for manual Thumbs Up but modern technology now means that auto's are better in all ways, performance on and off road, towing, economy etc!
No denying D4 is a great 4x4/wagon but unfortunately for LR it's an ever decreasing market now as all other manufacturers are realising. The market is/has moved away from that segment and the D4 as good as it is can't stop the sales slide.
Interesting times for LR who are a 4x4/AWD company but have "gaping" holes in their lineup of product offerings. I hope they don't miss the boat!! MY15

Well that's it, all systems go, only £3 more a month including 5 years servicing. Got £37k for DS, mats, mud flaps and plate transfer for gratis.

I asked about adblue top ups and was told it should last to each service interval.

Take delivery in October. Very Happy Very Happy 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

A great move up J77 - I think the D4 is in a different (far better) league than the DS. I would not even consider a DS so I doubt if I will stay with LR sadly. Problem is the D4 has lost its way by trying to be a Range Rover in drag - crammed full of hi tech toys and bling, with huge running costs. If I spend less than £30,000 I can get a new proper rugged and reliable off road capable Shogun with 3.2 auto diesel and with far less things to go wrong than a D4. LR simply have nothing for me anymore, sigh. But at least I still have my Freely 2 - its going better than ever at well over 70,000 miles so happy to keep it.

wait

I'm glad I didn't get tempted by the DS too. My FL2 is now over 93,000 miles and seems fine of snow. Just hoping LR do eventually produce a model that is comfortable, practical and affordable as well as having the features the DS missed out!! Life is not a dress rehearsal!

This EU6 Disco should be cheaper to run than my last D4, with the adblue road tax is £265 for the year and with the service pack I only have to worry about tyres, brakes etc but on my miles I won't need to put new boots on it for a long time.

Part of the charm of the SE is it has all the basics that I need without the stuff I don't need.

I'm more excited about this than I was with the DS, so I know it's the right decision. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Look at one of the largest threads, the MPG discussion thread, staggering how many people blindly buy a two tonne 4x4 and then whine at the fuel "economy" Laughing
