Can anyone provide an answer?
My FL2 auto gear knob suffered the what seems quite common problem of the spring breaking. Having replaced the knob it has not cured the problem and I'm able to select all gears without having the depress the button. Further investigation has identified the nylon rod in the gear stem has stays depressed and I assume should spring up preventing selection of gears without pressing in the button. Danger is if I knock the gear stick it could go straight into reverse or park when moving forwards. Is there any way to fix this?

I could be wrong but I'm sure there was a bulletin about this on Topix to all dealers and if you go to your dealer that this issue will be corrected for you! MY15

I doubt he would do this for free.
And probably starts to replace the solenoid first ( which works ).
He is not of the most cooperative type, due to the fact I do my own maintenance.
And buy parts of eBay
