yes occasionally, compare one with the other and on one side the "dodgy" one, on mine at least, is worn down a bit more. Don't know if this is the problem but I am using the spare at the moment as the car is going on the 1st Sept for a new one Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner |

You can get replacement cases (to transfer the existing electronics into) on eBay. I can't comment on the quality, though, as I've not actually seen one. |

Isn't this a bit of a risky thing to do, isn't it possible to clone the FOB? If they can they now also have your address.

Its a keyfob shop, that's all they do. So no more risky than going anywhere else to have a key coded, repaired or replaced.
