Oil leak

Hi everyone,
New member, been browsing the forum for a few months now, must say loads of tips & info I've read.
Just this min picked my 07 Freelander 2 up from having its Mot, passed ok no probs at all, I've had it 11months now & love it,
The mechanic said I had a light oil leak coming from the back ad the engine, I pooed the Bonnet & saw this

Am I right in thinking this is the oil seperator or a crankcase breather, I'd like to do the repair myself,
Every time I google or try to find any info, I seem to get referred to the freelander td4 & not my model,
Any advise would be most welcome

Thanks Dave.

Yes that looks like the problem, and easily fixed as per the link.

But what a mess your engine bay is, looks like you do a lot of offroading Dave?

Thanks very much Ad, looks like that's the problem then, not as bad as expecting, have a baby due in a few weeks time so near all my time is spent at work & DIY when I get home, I'll do a little more reading & have a go on the bank holiday coming up, also need to change one of the intercooler hoses as well, bumper off, fingers crossed for decent weather,
Thank you very much for that Ad 👍

Regards Dave

Hi Iain,
Thanks for that also, yep it is in need of a good clean, there just ain't enough of me to go around lol, I do, well did a fair bit of metal detecting, so I'm on & off the farms quite a bit, it's mostly dust from the tracks,
Soon as I get the probs sorted it'll be gleaming again, Smile
