My 2011 fl2 has clocked 20000km

Ive noticed a red warning light ( "!" in a circle) flashed a couple of times in a day.

Need help

Looks like a warning for the brake system

hand brake warning light? need more info where light is located in the instrument cluster :!:first check the brake fluid level in the reservoir in the engine bay under the bulkhead panel right hand side or vehicle  rainy-city

If so it comes on momentarily on start up for a bulb check, not sure but may come on with handbrake operated and if its not the handbrake switch then its a fault with the brake system.

If you lightly press the "Start/Stop" ignition button for a second it will illuminate your instrument panel for a few approximately 4 seconds whilst the FL2 checks its systems/functions and then if all's fine with your FL2 all the warning lights will go off. During this short test period you will see the following:

The symbol EYorkshire has shown you is located below the engine temperature gauge, a red circle with an exclamation "!" mark in the centre. If this remains ON whilst the engine is operating then you have either:

a) a fault with the Emergency Brake Assist - a device that boosts the the braking force when the driver rapidly applies the brakes in an emergency situation, or,

b) a fault with the Electronic Brake Distribution system - this controls the balance of the braking between the front and rear wheels to maintain the FL2's maximum braking efficiency. If the FL2 is fully loaded with passengers and/or heavy items in the load space then the braking force is distributed in favour of the rear wheels. If their is only the driver in the vehicle i.e. "lightly loaded" then the braking force is reduced on the rear wheels.

Should this red warning light remain on all the time when driving you should report the fault to your LR dealer as soon as possible.

Finally, there is another brake related red symbol - this is the Hand Brake Warning light and this is located in top half of the speedometer in the 1 o'clock position. It is a red circle with a "P" in the middle. This alerts the driver to the fact that the handbrake is still engaged. Release the handbrake and the red light will go off, if it remains on whilst driving you should a) take the hand brake off, and if that fails to extinguish the warning light then b) report the fault as soon as possible to your LR dealer.

Can anyone shed any light on the following....the wife was driving and noticed a light within the instrument cluster. Took a photo which I've uploaded. Ends up being the engine light.

You don't say what model you have - Diesel or i6? The handbook says:

"Check engine - petrol models only".

"Illuminates amber in the instrument pack as a bulb and system check when the starter switch is turned on and extinguishes as soon as the engine has started. Illumination at any other time indicates that the emission performance of the engine management system is impaired - seek qualified assistance. If the indicator flashes while driving, immediately reduce engine power to avoid catalytic converter damage."

Also, what about driving conditions? Yestersdays weather was bad so roads were extremely wet, puddles galore. The wife mentioned that conditions were the same when she went visiting.

Hi, just ran diagnostics and fault code came back P0299.
The trouble code P0299 (turbo under boost) has set off the check engine light.
Any suggestions? Can I fix it?

Check the Turbo Pipes, could have a loose Jubilee Clip or even a split, also look for traces of oil on the pipes, another sign of a leak.

Hi, found the cracked turbo inlet pipe so had to tape it up until the replacement arrives. Noticed tonight a real noise when accelerating through the gears. It sounds like hearing sky rockets being let off. I've recorded the sounds if someone is able to shed any light on this matter.

That will be an air leak from a pipe causing the shriek ! And will trigger your engine fault code of under boost. Have a look around your pipes for evidence of an oily mist trace . Jaguar x-type sport gone

Cheers for the feedback as always its much appreciated. As previously mentioned that I did find the crack in the rubber pipe so unclipped it and taped it up. This intercooler turpo hosing will be replaced when it arrives but I still get this high screatching when accelerating through the gears.
Is this due to the air intake from this pipe?
It drives fine but this noise is a real concern as the wife is 1 day overdue:-)

Has the noise appeared since you've taped up the pipe, if so it could be the air blowing through the joins in the tape, akin to blowing through a reed
There is a lot of pressure on these pipes, when under no pressure you can squeeze them to being rock hard under load.
