Siri

Hi all
Does anyone know if it's possible to use siri in the car? I want to use it to read text messages aloud but it doesn't seem to work.
I read it needs to be connected to the internet is that right or has someone found away to use it in non 3g areas?
Mine's a 2007 se and I have iphone 5s.

Cheers from a technophobe! Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

I've not used Siri specifically in my 2007 HSE, but I have experimented with using the voice recognition to compose a text message. Seemed to work fine through the car audio system as long as you have an internet connection (3G is fine, GPRS takes an age obviously).

Intrigued now.....going to nip out to the car and try Siri to see if it'll read me the weather!!

You are right in that you need an internet connection. I would imagine on slower connections it would be more annoying than useful. I have read somewhere that you can say something like "call Siri" and it then initiates Siri. Might be wrong tho.
