Just booked the FL in to get the tailgate paint issue looked at, left it bit too close for comfort, last 7 days, but assume as long as its seen in the warranty period it will still be covered even if the resolution happens past the date ? ?

Yes budy, think it still works even if you just tell them about it before the warranty runs out ( put it in writing though by email or letter )
