Scumbags!!

Inevitable I guess.

Went into Leamington this afternoon for lunch, parked with 2 spaces either side of me clear.

Thought nothing of it when I got back and saw a car parked both sides of me, the White Nissan Micra a little close for comfort on the nearside. Got home and noticed this:

What the image doesn't show, is the kink in the actual rim of the Wheelarch, which has pushed up into the wing. What is it with these tossers? If they couldn't feel that bump when they were parking, then they shouldn't be on the Rucking Foad! Foraging near Gaydon....

Problem is a lot are company cars or hire cars,so why should the drivers worry. I can well understand your anger I would be the same. Too little damage to go thru an insurance company and loose the NCB, so its having to dive into your own savings to get it sorted.
Were there CCTV cameras around, some car parks have them installed to catch non payers. Might just be worth giving the counci/site ownerl a call to find out and if they have would they have video of the car concerned Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

You would probably find that the car that scrapped you pulled straight out and parked somewhere else.

Very true. I would be surprised if anyone who knowingly did that would hang about in case you came back to your car before them.

One of the biggest courses for an argument when out shopping, the 10 minute drive around the car park to pick a space. What I find with these scumbags is there also bone idle so park well away from the shop entrance as poss as they don't like walking more than 10 yards.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8

Not wanting to stArt a huge thread on this, but have any of you ever clipped a vehicle and moved on without owning up?

My wife misjudged parking a few years ago and scraped another car. Despite having the option of moving on as no one was around we left a note with our details and the next day a sceptical and stunned woman called and we arranged a repair. 」250 in dent removal and painting. All happy.

If everyone did that there would be no issue.

Sort of done the opposite, long time ago I had a MK 2 Cortina, proper metal bumpers, took a turning a little to fast at a local landmark which Badger will know, (The Pedastal) clipped a car coming the other way, so hard that both his wheel trims came off and left a scrape along the offside, it bent my bumper slightly, we both stopped, the driver got out and said sorry, gave me 」25 and said that the bumper would straighten ok, which it did.

Ha ha ha, know it well Andy....were you heading up the A40 or down the Bradenham Road? Seen many a smash there over the years...I think it's one reason that they moved ithe monument off the roundabout and re-sited it back in the 80's.

I can't speak for everyone else, but personally no, I haven't. I tend to buy my cars outright from new, and therefore I take great pride in maintaining them both mechanically and visually. Most Land Rover drivers are sensible enough to know what they are doing on the road, so I doubt many will have actually hit anything, let alone a stationary parked vehicle that's nearly 2m high! Foraging near Gaydon....

We know how you feel and empathise.
My dear lady had the same (a little more pronounce bash) when she had parked her FL2 only a couple of months into ownership. Then back in 2010 (or was it '11) on the way to FreeL2 Halewood meet some scum tried a triple overtaking manoeuvre on a narrow road outside Leominster and rammed the front passenger door and wing (LHD vehicle) and bu**ered off. It hurts. The vehicle registration number that she managed to write down proved false. Possibly the reason the sod hopped it sharp'ish. But we are over it - and thanks to some excellent work on both occasions her FL2 looks like new. Yours will as well.

Heading out of West Wycombe, tuning left on to Bradenham Road, the monument used to be in the middle of the triangle, this would have been around 1977, as you say, they have since moved the monument and made it a mini roundabout. Thumbs Up

I must admit I reversed out of my drive a year or so again and whilst turning, ran the wheel arch against the front (plastic) bumper of my neighbour's van.
Completely creased the wing on the nearside around the wheel arch, didn't leave a mark on his van at all.

I'm surprised how much damage I did... to my own car! 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

Two occasions, both on the South Circular at Catford, people have driven into me and Censored off sharpish. Both times no mark on my substantial Land Rover bumpers, but the satisfaction of seeing massive dents on theirs as they shot past and disappeared. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
