Temporary new toy....

I have been messing around the Avon Dasset Beacons this morning in this:

Given that they are steep, not to mention very wet and muddy, I am hugely impressed with this car, and can understand totally just why AD912087665423124 bought one. The SDV6 is whisper-quiet on road, the flappy paddles allow it to slip into 8th at a mere 46mph, and off-road this morning I have found the rock-crawl coupled with Lo-range to be more than capable of dealing with the terrain that Avon Dasset tried to challenge it with.

If the new DS has this capability, I will be very very tempted. I almost am with this one, but at 24 to the gallon of the black stuff, might need to consider finding a source of Red first! Razz Foraging near Gaydon....

England 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

I would be down to the dealership first thing in the morning if Camelot would come up with the right numbers.
I have had 2 Discos in the past and although the Freelander is fantastic I still miss the D3.
Having said that the D4 takes things to a whole new level of both ability and cost which is why the lotto is my only option. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

It's true that light travels faster than sound, some people look quite intelligent until you hear them speak.

Stop global winging.

Be careful, it was a similar little jaunt that led to me spending big time, the comments regarding it are absolutely true though:thumbsup:

Aye Badger, the Disco 4 is a great car but a beast in terms of weight, cost and complexity. Whole of life running costs can only be cataclysmically huge. Its the way to travel for those who lease and swap every few years with the employer picking up the tab or at least paying one sufficient megabucks to fund it. All the gadgetry makes it great on and off road despite the weight but it has moved far beyond the reach of a large section of the previous Disco market.
I f LR could strip out half the toys, ditch the air suspension and just jack it up on springs I think the basic floor platform and body shell would make a far more viable replacement for the Defender than the woeful concept vehicles we have seen.

And don't think your off the hook just yet Thumbs Up

Must say through, it certainly eats the miles, quick trip up the M6 today, not helped by an accident on the M6 and I don't mean Stoke, but it was by Keele Whistle one hour sat and nothing moved except for the ones who thought they were special and could use the Hard Shoulder, then get irate because the Hard Shoulder ends just before J15 and they needed to join the M6 again but found it difficult. Whistle if only the outcome had been better it would have been much more enjoyable.

Oi ad3124235!!!
Don't knock Stoke. Famed for Oatcakes, The Wizard of Dribble, Reginald Mitchell and Josiah Wedgwood to name a few Bow down .
(We don't talk about Nobhead Williams, he's an embarrassment)
I was born and raised 4 miles from Keele and we always cause holdups to defend the North from Southerners looking for a better life Laughing Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

That part of the M6 between Stoke and Sandbach seems to have more than it's fair share of accidents, particularly outside daylight hours. Whether it's because there is no carriageway illumination on that stretch I don't know. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
