I brimmed mine for the first time yesterday and the needle was about 4 mm above the full mark. I had issues with my fuel gauge dropping to zero. This was fixed by replacing the wiring to the senders, there is a LR technical bulletin about it that the mechanic showed me. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White. |

Booked in with Donna at Bury LR next week for an ECU update to sort the intermittent starting problem She remembers you we'll and sends her regards Cheers for the headsup and hopefully the update will resolve the 1 in 100 mid starts - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement If my wife ever sells my stuff for what I told her I paid for it, there will be some bargains out there! |

MY07 XS TD4 I've just had a specialist, but not main dealer, rejig the wiring as per the technical note. However LR main dealer didn't do that when it was in - they offered a £480 replacement of the sender units! Anyway, LR look right, the rejig hasn't fixed the issue, still get intermittent drops to zero |

Colliera - I'm not saying this will work, but there is a software fix for the fuel gauge issue. Its something to do with the instrument cluster. Do you ever get an error message such as "steering column locked" when driving?

Thanks Stevie5tapes, I do get the steering lock message but only when the sod won't start! Then I have to take the battery off. that happens daily now

I'm not sure of the tech bulletin number, there are a few threads on here about it. When my fuel gauge started dropping to zero, my indy did the software upgrade as he said it usually fixes the problem. That didn't work so he rewired the senders. He said the early model FL2 had issues with instrument cluster faults, the fuel gauge being one of them, other problems being steering column locked messages. He said the software update is the first thing to do.
