We're very interested in purchasing a particular 2001 Freelander 1 and wonder if anybody could recommend a good forum for the original Freelander? Very excited - it's a 3dr with LPG conversion and lots of warranties and toys

One with as strong a knowledge-base as this would of course be preferable but you can't have everything

Don't worry there seem to have been plenty of them without faults- no major ones to make you worry anyway.
The FL1 has been the most sold SUV in her class for a couple of years so with so many arround problems are bound to have appeared. If the car's service history does not showanyring major you should not worry too much.
There is one here - company car for a company located near the one I worked for and she had no problems. Did not see her lately but as she was over 5 years old the company might have sold her. It was this car that made me consider the FL1 in the first place.
