Constant issues with freelander 2

hoping someone can help and guide me on what to do with the vehicle issues.

since i bought the freelander 2 auto in 2010 its been giving me grief.

1st issue was fuel gauge problem [at 2 weeks old], where the fuel tank was empty and the gauge showed half tank. sent to local Lookers twice to sort out, but nothing was fixed [they said they did]. then sent to guy salmon where vehicle was purchased from, they sorted it out and no issues, problem fixed [this all went on for a year, and 4 times AA had to tow car away].

the warranty expired in sept 2013, and has currently done 22000 miles.

a month back the back diff started to make a loud humming noise, getting louder as the speed increases [our company garage had a look], suspected bearings are worn out in the diff. and is getting worse by the week.

and just two days ago the gearbox/clutch started making a noise at times when changing from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. like a hiss type noise, but deeper. also a jump can be felt when changing the gears are changed. this happens once i been driving for approx 20 minutes. the sound is like a racing cars dump valves going off, but quieter.

i'm a light driver, only commute from work, rarely long miles in the car.

what i'm trying to get at is the car has only done 22k miles and the car is showing signs that its done 100k miles. i'm really disappointed in the car, and am worried land rover wont take liability as its outside warranty.

yes it does seem to have a lot of faults for a low mileage three year old car.

are you the only driver ?

I don't think one fault on delivery then another after nearly 4 years really counts as constant!

The diff noise is almost certainly the well-known pinion bearing. A repair kit is available, but the diff will have to be removed to fit it. If you use an independent for the work be aware that it is very important that the Haldex unit is re-fitted and re-filled correctly - if not done right failure of the Haldex can follow!

The gearbox issue could be something or nothing - further investigation is required there.

FTR, the experience of others suggests that 100K miles is not that much for a FL!
