Its a completely different car to the Freelander 1. I went from a perfectly good 08 Jag XF to an 59 plate HSE with 38k on the clock its now has 46k and I have had it 14months and I have to say its one of the nicest cars I have had. I had loads of people telling me I was nuts I was buying trouble there crap etc but I still feel every one still thinks of the freelader 1.

All I can say is.....I have driven Vauxhalls from Cavalier Mk2 days in the 80's, right up to Insignia's. I never thought that I would leave that brand to be perfectly honest, but having gone into a Dealer to get a brochure in late 2012 and coming out having bought one there and then, there is no WAY that I could ever go back to a normal car. I was so pleased with it, I bought another one. Neither have had any faults to report whatsoever. Ignore the critics - they (usually) work on hearsay based on the bad old LR days, rather than getting in one and seeing what it is properly capable of. Foraging near Gaydon....

Timing belt change at 150K is going to be expensive.

135K on an 09 is excessive mileage. ( my 09 has 27K ) first thing you need to ask is why ?? and how many owners/drivers ? tbh I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole !! Iain |

Why is it excessive? My 62 Plate MY2012 had 7 miles on it when I drove it away in November 2012, and by August last year , at just over 9 months old, had amassed 33,000 without missing a beat. If anything, it proved that they were designed to be driven! Which is precisely why I went straight out and bought another one. (Albeit a MY2013) Foraging near Gaydon.... 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

27K a year is a very high mileage ( when sustained over 5 years ) and for that reason alone I would walk away.

It may be a high mileage but presumably the price reflects it.Personally i would rather buy a high mileage well maintained example. Mine has done 192k on an 08 plate and had already had the very expensive 150k service done. It drives lovely and looks as well if not better than a lot of other i have seen and cost less than a low mileage freelander 1. |

Yes I do know its history. It is a one owner car with full land rover history having had a fortune spent on servicing. As i said i drives superb and looks like it has done about 30k including the interior. Just went through the test with 1 advisory,a tyre which is now done. |

The days of high mileage cars causing problems long-term are long gone.....if it has the correct Service history, there is no reason why a modern Diesel engine can't do 300k+ without a major component needing to be replaced.

I don't have a problem with high mileage, when I was working I handed my company cars back after 3 years and 140 k miles and never had a problem with any of them, never replaced a single major component just normal servicing.
