Just wondered what is planned re: the future of this valuable & well supported forum in 2015, once the LR Discovery Sport is on sale and on the road?

This forum in my mind is about interaction of owners with a Landrover, modifications, faults, experiences etc. Just why the insertion of a non LR vehicle section into this Forum makes any sense is beyond me.

I daresay that a former 'contributor' from Surrey has already thought of that. Come to think of it, it would probably suit him completely!!
Couldn't agree more. Foraging near Gaydon.... —————————————— MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

Think I agree with most of you; find a way to accommodate changes in the LR model offerings, but certainly not to broaden it out to other 4x4 & SUV manufacturers. Life is not a dress rehearsal! |

Why not merge them all keeping the domain names... As long as caravan talk is kept to a minimum I would have no probs as I have an intrest in LR and not just the freelander

My personal view is not to make a 4x4 forum or even an Land Rover forum for that matter, iv'e seen the back biting on other forums where a Freelander is regarded as a very poor relation and unless you are in a modified Defender and want to be up to your armpits in mud, your even ignored.

I think the forum should stay as the emphasis will change. The waxing and claybar fetishists will soon be getting their upgrades and migrating to a new DS site, while Freel2 will gradually revert to servicing and maintenance matters ( a bit like Landyzone) for those with ageing vehicles. After all, we don't discuss the Evoque on here (well not much) even though it's a very similar, if somewhat inferior, motor, or the FR1, which has the same name but is a totally different motor, so why discuss the DS? I expect my new FL2 2015MY will be delivered soon. I'll need forum's help at least until 12/2020 (I hope) |

Fair point regarding the Evoque, before it's launch it was mentioned quite a bit but since, it has virtually disappeared, same with the new RRS also, hardly gets a mention now. |

emmmm ……. not sure the Evoque parallel quite holds. After all the DS is going to be the replacement for the excellent Freelander2. Whereas the Evoque was ……….. errrr …….. a blingy new model borne out of a concept car that appealed most to previous non LR owners, or aspiring RR owners who couldn't afford one.
