My Brand New 17" GS wheel with Brand new Goodyear Wrangler tyre and the Jack kit which fits up inside the wheel is for sale.

This alloy spare wheel and jack kit was bought at a cost of almost £600 from a Landrover Main Dealer for our 2010 Freelander 2 GS because as you know they are supplied new with no spare wheel.

It replaces the option of having just the pump & gas supplied with the car for when you get a puncture, or great if you just need to replace one damaged wheel and want to save a lot of money on main dealer costs.

Personally i know what i would rather have!

The tyre as expected is brand new and never been on the road and is a Goodyear Wrangler 235 / 65 / R17 Mud & Snow. The wheel is totally unused, and the jack kit is also unused and its all as supplied by Landrover.


Will be putting it on ebay soon for £250.00 as the car will be going at the end of the month... Wondered if there any takers? Will need to be collected from East Sussex though..!! telfire

Wouldn't mind just the Jack/wheel brace kit, but I have a feeling you'd want more than I'd pay plus there is postage.

In honesty I think you are asking too much for the wheel, but good luck.

I've seen recently sold on Scumbay:

1: New Jack = £25
2: New GS Alloy = £64 (I payed £79 for a set of 4 absolutely mint ones in Kingston upon Thames last October!)
3: Re the tyre - not seen one on Scumbay but list here is ≈GBP92 (at today's FX rate) so it must be cheaper in UK.

Therefore I agree with Dunroof that you may need to rethink the asking price to secure a sale - but - good luck to you.

Fair enough, I just dont think the wheels will move in honesty. As for the wheelbrace kit, you'd be safe splitting it as most people after 5 wheels already have a wheelbrace. I think they are just under 25 quid at the dealers and I know some on Ebay have been fetching more than that, so that might be worth a dabble. I can only presume people dont know their true cost.

After talking to the dealers, I've had a re-think.. Seems there are two prices as in if you order it a factory option, and of course if you order the wheel, tyre, and jack/wheel brace kit seperatly.

Therefore looking at sensible offers around £185 for the lot telfire

Yes the Freelander is going at the end of the month But after a lot of thought I think its the right time to sell as I've been offered top money for it against a new car,

Can't say I'm really bored of the FL2 just don't think I'll really ever use it to its full potentional, and although its been good fun its a juicy ole lump of lard and to be honest I've never been totally pleased with the ford engine that they put in them! They seem to rattle like a train till they warm up..!!

So... Don't laugh, but we've just ordered a top spec Honda C-RV. Theres a black one sitting at the factory in Swindon with my name on it....Now before anybody shouts we know it won't go places off road where the Freely will, but what a smooth motor to drive they are.!! Plus with 3 years free servicing etc etc it had to be done as if I'd held on to the Freely it would certainly depreaciate more than most because its one of the basic ones, and most people want all the whistles and bells?

So it was a HSE FL2 or CR-V EX... and with all the toys at just under 30k on the road the honda won the day...!! telfire

Tefire, no hard feelings! Pop by a few times and tell us how the Honda works out, fuel, faults, comfort etc
