Apple Car Play FL2 HSE?

Had a search of previous posts but can’t find something recent and specific enough when searching on my mobile...

We have a 2008 Freelander 2 HSE with an Alpine sound system. We’d like to install an Apple Car Play system with DAB (Pioneer SPH DA230 DAB we think) but am I right in thinking there’s some issues with that? I can’t work out if it’ll be possible or not.

Does anyone know what the main barriers to it might be? From what I can piece together, it sounds like some people have had issues with the steering control buttons and rear parking sensors which we want to avoid.

I know that we’ll need extra cabling to add the the DAB element because it’s not in place already but aside from that is there anything to lookout for and be aware of?

We’re not going to try and install it ourselves if that matters - will get our local LR indy to do it

Thanks!
