It's exactly like that. Haven't tried slow turns on full lock. If it's the Haldex how much will a fix cost.......no warranty! |

As you see with mine, it "was a software update wot fixed it". More specifically, the Duckworths technician applied the software update that is done with the low-level diff repair, but without touching the diff. Mine was done under extended warranty but I guess about £150 should cover it. For the exact details, Adam Roberts at Duckworth Market Rasen is your guy. Pity you are in Scotland! For a temporary fix, make sure all four tyres are the same size/wear rate. I ran mine on my winter set over Easter until I could get it booked in.

MM, to recap, my front tyres are new at 8mm tread depth. The rears are part worn at 6mm tread depth. Thus the rolling radius of the front tyres is greater and therefore they will turn fewer revolutions per mile than the rear set. On the Freelander 2 this is normally ok as the Haldex unit (aka the centre differential) is disengaged in normal driving. On mine the system was slowly "self testing" every 30 seconds or so, bringing about the vibration when the differential "locked" for a few seconds. By changing to my winter tyre set, which are the same tread depth all round, no vibration was felt as all wheels were turning at the same revs.
