Alternator Removal

Hi guys, I'm still working through my problems and think that maybe my alternator has a problem as after a period of sustained equipment usage (lights on wipers on heater and demisters on my battery light comes on and stays on). Bought a new battery still the same, so it seems as if the alternator cannot achieve max power....

How difficult is it to remove as from where I am standing it looks a b**ch.

Have you checked to see if it is charging ?
Put a volt meter across the battery terminals when the engine is running, you should get about 14.4v if the alternator is charging OK.
Also have you checked the auxiliary drive belt for tension or damage. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Yes, its charging but after running for about 30mins battery light comes on its as if it gets warm and stops charging. If I turn engine off and wait a couple of mins and then start it battery light goes out and it is charging again....

I will have to check it when the battery light is on and see if its charging then

Seems strange that the alternator charges again after the engine is stopped and restarted? I wouldn't have though it would have had chance to cool down any? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Well how about this;

It seems to have fixed itself at the moment as I have not seen the light come on for a while (touch wood)

Is it possible that when they cleaned the underneath (maybe with a pressure washer) that this could have caused some of my problems. It did look immaculate underneath when I collected it ??? Neutral Idea If it ain't ***ked don't fix it

That seems quite likely to me. I hate the wrong people using pressure washers. Water gets everywhere and causes all sorts of problems. Hope all your problems are sorted now and you have a Happy New Year.
