Ownership experience after 2 years...

Well...It's been a long time since I came here. To make a story short...we bought a used Lr2/Freelander 2, two years ago. A 2010 HSE I6 with 29 000km. So I wanted to share our experience with the vehicule.

2 years later with close to 70 000km on the clock the only issue we had was the rear wiper motor. Covered by warranty. Otherwise it's been running flawlessly. Start all the time even at -30° celcius during the cold winter month.

What a great rover. Around here car guides and magasines and other do rate Land Rover very poorly when it comes to reliability. They are still thinking about the freelander 1 v6 auto trans cars that where not good at all....It makes me laugh. Co-worker at job owns Jeep, Mazda, Toyota, Subaru and other and they are always at their dealership for some trouble and a few times a year steadily.

I love my Lr2.

Excellent thanks for sharing, nice to hear a positive post for a change, I had an i6 but it had to go due to the high cost of fuel in the UK. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

Good to hear about positive experiences as well as the sharing of problems on the forum.

I have had my MY2010 TD4 for just a year now. Experienced the fuel sender problem in the early months that was sorted under warranty (information about which, from this site, was a huge help in focusing the dealer). Apart from that the car has been a dream. 24500 miles on clock when bought, now 37000 miles.

On our recent trip to Spain we covered just over 2500 miles of comfortable, effortless driving.

Others keep telling me that I have bought an unreliable car and seem puzzled by my move from BMW. It is always apparent that they are really talking about the FL1 the reputation of which has stained Land Rover's own reputation for years. As a tug for the caravan and an amazingly versatile, comfortable car it is hard to beat and certainly no Beamer that I know of can match it, so far it has been no less reliable than my BMWs either.

I have only had mine 6 months but covered 8000 trouble free miles. I must be impressed as I have just bought
a 2014 HSE with 3000 miles on the clock

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

I wish I could afford to run the petrol version here in the UK but we get stuffed at the pumps.

As for faultless running - yep - like all marques theres the good and the bad and I for one ( despite a few probs ) am happy with mine too.

That said - I cant imagine going out side never mine driving in tempratures like that.... Brrrrrrr Razz
