Since the Satnav obtains its data from the DVD, i presume you just pop it in the machine

Yes, just place it in the unit and it does it all by itself. UK/West Europe took just under 15 minutes to load and run.

It would be nice if a list of codes/instructions could be compiled and released so if anyone wishes to experiment with their car's settings, and potentially screw it up, they can do. Of course, it's entirely at the owner's risk and a disclaimer would need to head such a document so the risks are known, but I feel that we should be able to tweak things ourselves if the facility is inbuilt.

Got my 2008-2009 update disk, all I did was eject the old disk and slot in the new one. Message on screen UPDATE WILL TAKE UP TO 15 MINS. So to avoid a flat battery I started the engine - |

my satnav did that in FL2.1, took it to the dealers and they said they replaced the screen, with a screen scratch in the exact same place as mine too |

When the updates are being loaded the button becomes pressed, it will pop out at intervals and pop back in again, whilst it is updating, my guess is it is still updating, some seem to take longer than others, I did mine on Saturday and it took about twenty minutes, my old Freely once took forever, in the end I just left the disc in and let it get on with it. From memory the first time I did an update, I had the same problem as you describe and thought |
