South Africa 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Orkney Grey
freelander 2 just broke at LR service center

Good Day, i am new and would be appreciated if any one can help me.

I have an 2007 freelander 2 td4 and bought it new back in 07, i am looking for your advice. i am from South africa and the car has 230 000 km on the clock never had any mechanical problems with it but the keys that lock the doors and start engine started to not respond to locking the doors but wasn't that big of an concern. Last week we lost the keys of the car and phoned land rover to get a new set of keys and today when we dropped the car of they reprogrammed the keys of the car but then they said they have bad news..,.
They said the clutch of the car had gone and there is oil dripping from the gear box???
i don't understand it at all, when we delivered the car it was working 100% and after they programmed the keys it had so much problems.
My question is when they programmed the keys is it possible that the computer they used had an non function and as a result caused the computer of the car to miss behave and damage it self by accident or any way possible??

Can you please assist me with this problem.

Kind regards

They plugged a computer into it, below the steering wheel nothing near the clutch or anything to clause a leak of oil

You either missed it, by not looking under the car and giving it a full inspect and it's incredibly bad luck

Or they are trying to

A) Pull a fast one

B) bill you for work they found whilst carrying out a health check

C) ragged the Censored out of it on the lunch run and are trying option A

i also think they are trying to fool me, but i also dont get it how can they work on the cars computer and then all the sudden the clutch is gone and the car starts to leak oil?

we never had a oil leakage of any kind so don't it can happen by it self...

The slave cyl can leak at any time and at the mileage that it has covered it has done very well ,probably just a coincidence unfortunately. Sad

Meneer

As a former non-Philamonamukaka van die weskaapp and my experience of Auto Atlantic im Kaapstad and how these draadtrekkers work...be very aware that coincidences are rare, and more is likely that the Floppy valet guy has been deliberately let loose on the car to "conjure up" work that probably doesn't exist or warrant.

Not sure where in Joeys you are, but get a second opinion.....these guys given half the chance are fokken diewe! Foraging near Gaydon....
