Panoramic Sunroof problem

Hi all hope someone can help?

My panoramic sunroof is not working properly, the issue is, one shot open and close isnt working? and when I hold the button to close, it closes and then open slightly. The only way to get it fully closed is to toggle between open and close to find the position which is lower most.

I have tried the 20 / 30 second re set but when it runs the cycle it stays open and doesnt ever go to the close position. I took it to LR dealer today and they charged me £60 to tell me the calibration didnt work and it would need further investigation arrrrgh!!! rip off

I would rather find out how or find someone who can strip it down if needed to get this fixed

any help would be apreciated

Andy

Update ... took it LR twice now and still not fixed !!!!! they are saying it needs a new motor? I'm really not sure that this is the case as the sunroof opens and closes, a motor runs until a sensor tells it to start or stop.

Where is the motor situated? I may have a go myself as they want to charge over £700 to fix it. I took a stab in the dark and looked behind the interior light housing, but its not there surprise surprise.

Any help would be greatly recieved

Andy

You should be able to find the service information on TOPIx. You'll have to pay, but as I understand it, you can buy one day's access and then download the entire workshop manual. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
