Easier to just buy a 2nd hand manifold without the swirl flaps.

True, a later manifold without swirl flaps would be slightly easier.

Don't think so, I've removed my swirl flaps about 50.000 km ago and no problems with the DPF |

Hi, had my 2007 auto go into limp home when accerlating up hill with the caravan on the back and it wouldn't clear with an on off reset. Took car to thr garage and they said they have found this in the throttle body.

Hi, I have seen other posts where pieces of the brass rod have been found in the pipe below the throttle body. If I remember correctly, there was no noticeable damage done to the engine. Fingers crossed for yours.

Thanks JGH99, I wasn't sure if it had been carelessly left thier by another garage, but it seems it is possible. The car drove to garage and didn't sound rough, just in limp home, as you say fingers crossed. They think the fault code was generated because the rod was stopping the throttle body opening fully therefore giving dodgy readings. Can you remove all the flaps and bung up the holes in the end of the manifold? I have read where people have taken the flaps out but put the shaft back in to block the holes, obviously my shaft is broken? |

Hi, I removed my flaps and shaft. I just left the small actuator arm clipped in. Has never leaked since. I also plugged up the vacuum line to stop arm moving. No problems since and passed MOT no problems. Freelander 2 GS Stornoway Grey

Did you sell it via this thread/site or somewhere else?. Just wondered as I’ve got my original manifold in the garage I could do with selling. |
