Key fob doesnt work after being away for 6 weeks.

Have been away for 6 weeks and key fob will not work. Have removed the part of the door handle but there does not appear to be a key lock to insert the keyfob key. The removed plastic will need replacing now as the tabs have broken but Where is the lock? please.

The tabs should not have broken Confused The 'key blade' removes the cover as well as unlocking once it is removed.

Removal of the plastic cover is done on the underneath side and the lock itself will then be staring at you. You are attempting it on the passenger side aren't you?

Hi Eastyorkshire, Many thanx for your reply. Have been on to Landrover tech assistance and they have just told me the same. I started on the drivers door side but.......having moved to passenger door have obtained entry without a problem. Would not start so am now charging the battery in hope...Many Thankx for your help. Just got to replace drivers door handle now.

Yes, LR certainly made it difficult for us, why the UK market could not have it on the door you get in or out of is beyond belief.
It surprises me that it did not start, when you gained access with the key the alarm should have sounded, the cars system would have 'awakened' and it should have been back to normal once you had cancelled the alarm.

Fingers crossed that a charge of the battery will do it.

When I thought about "breaking" in I never thought about the passenger door being the emergency entry. The alarm went off as soon as I opened the door and ceased once the key went in the ignition. Have topped up the battery andd now have fired up. Cheers!
