Help - would you use T-Cut?

Now before you all laugh your heads off at me I know I am stupid..... so, here's the deal...I am so used to parking sensors that I forgot that my hire car does not have them and I reversed into a bollard thing today, I was going v.v. slowly...

As the excess on the hire car is £500 I need to get rid of the black paint and scratches on the bumper of the car. It's a Chevrolet Kalos in blue.... what's the best way of doing this? Would you use the T-Cut scatch stuff?

I am so mad with myself! Embarassed Confused

Is it scratched or just paint transfer from the bollard?

Definitely some paint transfer from the bollard, not sure about the scratches - would have to go outside and have a look!

try some normal car polish to see if it removes the bollards paint

another option would be to have Chipsaway quote on a smart repair

I also wouldn't pay the £500 excess until the hire car company repairs the car, as the repair cost will most likely be less and knowing hire cars companies they wouldn't have it repaired anyway and just send the car out again charging the excess anyway Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

There's a cheap and easy trick to removing paint transfer. Take some nail varnish remover (you should be able to find that easier than I did Laughing ) and splash a little onto a bit of cotton, or kitchen roll or whatever. Press it against the paint transfer and use it to agitiate it - pressing it will loosen it. Then use a (clean!) cloth in very hot water and wipe it hard and the paint should loosen away.

I've done it many times after people have opened doors into the cars and bollard have jumped in front of the vehicle Whistle It usually works without problems.

Furthermore, listen to npinks and car polish should help. "CY from DISCO3"

I've already used colour matched T-Cut on my FL2, worked a treat removing small grazes, and have used it to good effect on my wifes car to remove paint transfer, I'd say give it a try.
