Force firmware update on GPS?

I've had trouble getting a GPS-signal after an aborted FW-update. I did get at lot of advice in another post on the forum, but none of them helped me solve the problem:

Missing GPS-signal after attempted update of sat nav maps.

If anyone has the right recipe, dialing in to the service-menu of the sat nav, and so forth, I will be very grateful. Leopard tank drivers never stop at anything.
