its very easy mate remove both headlights 10 mins then remove covers to access bulbs remove standard h7 dipped beam bulb replace with new xenon h7 the kits come with a wiring harness which plugs straight into existing wires drill one hole in plastic cover which you have removed to install the new wiring harness refit headlights plug in xenon ballast pack then check opperation if all is well mount the 2 xenon ballast packs somewhere behind the headlights either with screws or double sided tape. close bonnet and enjoy the kits on ebay range between £75--£100 including p+p the kit i bought was 6000k which has a slight blue colour 2007 fl2 narvik black ,chrome mirrors, side steps, tinted windows,20" kahn wheels,6000k xenon conversion, black leather, garmin nuvi satnav, silver vision indicator bulbs, clear side repeaters. |

Hi all , if you have a one of these conversions done, now bear with me its a woman thing is there anything that can go wrong i know there only lights but i have read somewhere that these bulbs have melted the plastic on the headlamps on some makes of car and could this conversion affect your warranty i asked my hubby he just said don't be daft and i was hoping for more of an answer than that really |

I have to admit i have thought about the diference in heat generated by the xenon convertion If they are 300% brighter, does it mean more light = more heat? Discuss Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I guess that each conversion kit has its own specs, but I would be very careful when upgrading. What I can tell you for sure, is that LR does not allow LR dealers to do an upgrade from halogen lamps to HID or AFS and the reason is that you need sensors around the car which are used for the auto leveling plus various special cables and computers which coordinate the whole system. Having said that, I'm pretty sure that any other available system on the market which does not include all those components is not as reliable or sophisticated. I beleive that chances are that you would blind many opposite comming drivers. I have seen some JEEP's here that have sth that looks like XENON lights (but just regarding to the white light they emit) but the rest of the headlight is like a simple halogen unit: whole result is awful! My dealer also told me that the FL2 HID is a very high tech system regarding to the bulb used and the light emitted. |

On page 73 of my handbook it shows how to change the dip for use on the continent - but that only applies to the Xenon lamps. Reading your posts I assume you are like me and have the Halogen lamps. These do NOT have the lever in the picture.

the light level system will still be exactly the same as all you are effectively doing is replacing a bulb they do not alter full beam although if you wanted you could purchase another kit to do this but i would not recommend it because xenon lights takes about 10 seconds to reach maximum output and this would not be ideal if you were trying to flash another vehicle (with your lights lol) i bought my kit off ebay for £80 including p+p 2007 fl2 narvik black ,chrome mirrors, side steps, tinted windows,20" kahn wheels,6000k xenon conversion, black leather, garmin nuvi satnav, silver vision indicator bulbs, clear side repeaters. |
