Solution to water leak in passenger footwell

There are many posts on her about water leaks into the front passenger footwell. My Freelander has leaked here this week for the second time and the source of the problem is a new one.

Water is to be found in the front passenger footwell, but the carpet is dry around the air con unit and around the door seal. If you pull out the passenger seat belt and it is wet then the problem is likely to be the same as mine.

You need to drop the headlining which means removal of grab handles, sun visors, internal lamp units, alarm sensor and the A and B post trim. Above the B pillar is the drain from the sunroof. This has a small black hose pushed onto it and this hose simply needs pushing back into place. I have used a cable tie to offer more resistance to movement. Thumbs Up
