Wheel compatability

Firstly, new to this forum (and to my freelander) so hi to all.

Just bought a 62 plate FL2 XS - no idea of model numbers but its got the new interior.

It came with the tyre repair kit so I want to buy a full size spare, and then thought - why not buy 4 wheels with winter tyres, use one as a spare during summer and then change all 4 over next winter.

Question is, do any FL2 wheels fit my year FL2? Even 16" wheels (currently mine are 18")? Are there any PCD or offsets issues?

Also, any recommendations for a good winter tyre and is there a best diameter for winter/off road?

Thanks for any help.

If it has an Electronic Parking Brake then the minimum size you can fit is 17inch wheels. Other than that any Freelander 2 and Evoque wheels that are 17 inch or over will fit.

New interior !
If you mean you have the MY13 model with electronic hand brake then 16" will not fit but before that then yes. As long as you stick to the FL2 range of 16/17/18/19 wheels or even Evoque there are no PCD or offset problems.

EDIT: I was still typing when rchrdleigh posted the same

I'm presuming I can just remove the tyre repair kit carrier and the wheel will just drop in the slot. Is this correct?

Yes, as the diameter is the same no matter what FL2 size wheel as long as you stick to the official tyre sizes, although there is a little room to spare.

Don't forget to sort out the purchase of the wheel retainer bolt.
