hi all Have just had to fully top up the tank with diesel,after the warning light came on , i was surprised that the fill up took 71 litres + what was in left in the tank.
am i right in thinking the tank holds 68 litres.
when the warning light came on i drove 5 miles to the nearest garage so i assume there should have been at least 5 litres in the tank so that would mean the capacity of the tank would be 76 litres 57 reg GS leather seats panoramic sun roof

The official capacity of the fuel tank on a diesel Freelander is 68 litres, and on the petrol it is 70 litres. It is possible to brim the tank and get in more than 68 litres by filling the filler pipe but I would also look at how accurate the fuel pump is if you are getting more than 70 litres into a tank that still had some fuel in it.

thanks yes i did fill to the brim as usual, because when the nozzle cuts out i normally find the tanks still needs approx 10 litres to the full. 57 reg GS leather seats panoramic sun roof
