I am just sorting out the bootlid lock. I have taken 5 nuts off the numberplate light, but

Sorted! Perfect inside - no corrosion or dirt whatsoever. Found out why it did not work the
tiny button was stuck in. Pulled it out with tweezers,

Any idea what the elaborate grey thingy is that covers the unneccessary hole in the

No, it's just a microswitch. Perhaps the button was stuck in because something has broken inside the microswitch?
