Heated seats 2013 XS

After selling the 2007 HSE that grilled your a**e if you left the heated seats on too long, I was dissapointed that my 2013 which I would think has the same set up, is a bit rubbish ?.....anyone else feel the same ?

Also feels like it rides harder too 2007 HSE, Auto, silver...gone but never forgotten.

Mine seem to take a while to heat up, maybe 10 mins or so but once up to temperature, they certainly are toasty.

Had them on a Volvo V50 company car I had years ago and they seemed to heat up a lot quicker - same operation, first button push - high setting, second button push low setting. MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

I see, I remember the old one, I had to turn it down to one after 20 mins or so......bit of a shame. I like the new centre console but still wish it had more storage. Still pound for pound the best car on the road though !!!! Laughing 2007 HSE, Auto, silver...gone but never forgotten.

Not at all, here with mornings of 2 degrees it probably takes 4-5 minutes before i can feel the warmth coming through and nice and toastie after 10 minutes. Certainly hot enough for me to turn it down to 'heat 1' setting.

Seats - never had heated ones before in any car. A few minutes and they are more than warm enough... but personally I don't want them to be too hot.

Ride - I understand it was firmed up a bit in the MY 2013 model. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

The heated seats have different levels of heating/temperatures, depending on the settings on the car's configuration file.
Maybe you (andyrussell) have different settings on the CCF from factory than on the old car.
These settings can be altered only with the help of a dedicated diagnostic equipment.
The settings are:

I have never had the heated seats on for more than a few minutes. I would be worried that excessive use could have an adverse effect on the leather. Surely one's posterior imparts enough heat to the seat after five minutes or so?
